We are honored to share that the privatization of the Caliraya-Botocan-Kalayaan (CBK) Hydroelectric Power Plants (Philippines’ only operational pumped storage hydropower complex) has been awarded the “Power Deal of the Year – ASEAN” at The Asset Triple A Sustainable Infrastructure Awards 2026.
As recognized and mentioned in the award notification, the transaction introduced an innovative hybrid structure combining asset monetization, a quasi-PPP framework, and a long-term land lease model — enabling private sector operational efficiency while preserving public ownership of strategic infrastructure. This deal, stands as a strong example of how innovative infrastructure and project finance solutions can unlock value for governments, attract long-term private capital, and support the energy transition across emerging markets.
