Synergy Consulting, Inc. is honored to have served as the Lead and Financial Advisor to the consortium of Miahona Company, Power and Water Utility Company for Jubail and Yanbu SJS (Marafiq), and BESIX for achieving Financial Close of the Al-Haer Independent Sewage Treatment Plant (ISTP) in Riyadh, KSA—which has been recognized with the prestigious “Utilities Deal of the Year – MENA” award by IJ Global.
This recognition is a testament to the project’s innovative structuring and its contribution to the advancement of environmental infrastructure in the region.
The Al-Haer ISTP will feature:
- Treatment capacity of 200,000 m³/day
- 32 km treated sewage transmission system with a transport capacity of up to 400,000 m³/day
- Pumping station and storage tanks with 200,000 m³ capacity
These integrated components are designed to ensure sustainable and efficient sewage treatment, supporting Saudi Arabia’s environmental sustainability goals under Vision 2030.
The project is expected to reach commercial operation by Q4 2026 and will be operated under a 25-year concession—a model that reflects the Kingdom’s continued commitment to public-private partnerships (PPP) in vital sectors.
