Synergy Consulting, Inc. had the privilege of participating in a focused discussion on Syria’s reconstruction and economic recovery, hosted by the US-Syria Business Council, in Maryland, USA on February 17th.

Synergy extends sincere thanks to Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Levant Jacob McGee, Senior Advisor Dr. Qaddour, and his team from the Office of Near Eastern Affairs at the U.S. Department of State for engaging in a substantive dialogue with Council members, private sector leaders, and Syrian-American advocates.

The discussion underscored the current US administration’s significant efforts in advancing stabilization and reconstruction initiatives in Syria.

The conversation centred on the critical role of structured economic engagement in supporting long-term stability. Key priorities included:

  • Addressing the ongoing banking paralysis that continues to impede legitimate U.S. investment and commercial activity;
  • Expanding access to technology and easing IP-based restrictions affecting Syrian entrepreneurs; and
  • Reducing U.S. tariffs on Syrian goods (currently 41%) toward a 10% baseline to facilitate trade normalization.

Synergy Consulting is currently serving as Financial Advisor for the redevelopment of Damascus International Airport and for four combined-cycle power plants in Syria—projects that are foundational to restoring connectivity, energy security, and economic productivity. We are committed to working closely with the U.S. Government and the Syrian Business Council to help structure transparent, bankable infrastructure transactions that mobilize international capital for reconstruction.

For more than 20 years, Synergy has been active across the Middle East, with offices in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

We bring strong post-conflict and stabilization credentials, including a track record working in Iraq, Lebanon, and the West Bank, and other countries where complex institutional, political, and financial environments require disciplined structuring and coordinated stakeholder engagement.

We are grateful to the U.S.-Syria Business Council, to Chairman Jay Salkini (Tecore Networks) for his leadership, and to Ammoora Baltimore for graciously hosting the evening. The food and ambience were truly excellent and provided a befitting setting for such an important conversation.

Under the leadership of AMAN Sachdeva, Founder, President & CEO, and with Grayson P. Wolfe, Partner and Lead for the Americas, Synergy remains committed to supporting responsible, investment-driven reconstruction efforts that advance stability, growth, and regional partnership.
