Looking at the history of the reliable India-Russia bilateral trade relationship, India’s import of more quantities of Russia’s crude might be a good strategy. He opined that even if the EU sanctions restrict Europe’s import of Russia’s crude oil, the Russian crude may still find many buyers in China, India, and ASEAN countries. Rajat said that as the import is price-dependent, India’s dependency on the middle east will reduce with the availability of cheaper exports from Russia, the US, Venezuela, etc.
