Synergy Consulting is honored to support the Government of Azerbaijan as the Lead Advisor in successfully achieving Commercial Close for the 100 MW Gobustan Solar PV Project

The Government of Azerbaijan (“GoA”) has successfully signed the project agreements for the 100 MW Gobustan Solar PV Project (“Project”) with Universal Solar Azerbaijan LLC, a special purpose company incorporate by Universal International Holding Limited (UIHL) for developing the Project. This is a significant milestone marking the completion of the first successful renewable energy auction in Azerbaijan.

Synergy Consulting, Inc., acting as Lead, Commercial and Financial Advisor, is proud to have supported the Government of Azerbaijan in successful implementation of the auction process and drafting, negotiation and execution of the Project Agreements. The Project was procured by the Ministry of Energy (MoE) of the Republic of Azerbaijan with support from The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“EBRD”).
The advisory group supporting the project includes Synergy as the Project’s lead, commercial and financial advisor; Sargent & Lundy as the technical advisor; CMS as the legal advisor and MGB as the local legal advisor.

The project is expected to be operational in September 2026 and will enhance the renewable power sector in the country. The Project will sell power to Azerenerji OJSC under a 25 year PPA.
