Synergy Consulting is honored to support SWPC as Lead and Financial Advisor for Jubail 3B IWP Project (570,000 m3/ day RO plant with one day production storage) which achieved Financial Close in October 2021. The Project Agreements were signed by SWPC with a consortium comprising International Power S.A (“Engie”), Nesma Company Limited and Abdulaziz Al Ajlan Sons in June 2021.
Jubail 3B IWP is one of the largest potable water producing plant in the region with a capacity of 570,000 m3/day. It uses RO technology to supply water to Riyadh and Qassim regions and includes a 60MWp solar PV facility – the largest in-house solar capability for a desalination plant in the Kingdom.
This deal has set an exemplary standard of coordination among various stakeholders in the challenging times of Covid-19 and is leading the way in rewriting the rulebook for procuring and participating in PPP Projects. It provided a glimpse of the future whereby all the evaluation, communication, approvals, and closing may happen remotely thereby reducing/minimizing travel related CO2 emissions and use of physical documentation
