Uzbekistan International PPP Roundtable held in Tashkent saw strong participation from various international, regional and domestic stakeholders.
This event was held on May 20, 2022, in it, the Government of Uzbekistan highlighted its commitment towards PPPs in the country by presenting an investment pipeline of more than US$14 Billion, for the period 2022-2026.
In order to deliver on the targeted US$14 Billion of investments and at an optimal cost, it is very critical for the Government of Uzbekistan to explore all potential options of financing. And, to deliberate on this particular aspect, a dedicated panel on Innovative Financing Solutions for PPP was assembled as part of this Roundtable.
Shashank Rath, Partner Синергия Консалтинг, Инк. represented Synergy’s views on the Panel which was attended by representatives from ADB, World Bank Group, IsDB, among others.
Synergy Consulting has been actively involved in multiple PPP transactions over the past few years in Uzbekistan and was thus able to bring in the real-time learnings to the Panel discussion. Various options were discussed by the panelists, including the need for development of local financing and development expertise.
