Синергия Консалтинг, Инк., is honored to support Naqaa Sustainable Energy (Naqaa), on the execution of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Botswana Power Corporation for the landmark 500 MW Solar PV plant with integrated battery energy storage in Botswana – one of the largest renewable energy investments in the country’s history.
The PPA was signed on April 16, 2026, in the groundbreaking ceremony presided over by President Duma Gideon Boko of the Republic of Botswana and H.E. Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of the Oman Investment Authority. The project gives effect to the outcomes of the high-level interactions between His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Duma Gideon Boko, held in Oman.
The Project is the first initiative to enter final commercial implementation within the 3,000 MW expanded energy cooperation framework established between Oman and Botswana in November 2025.
Synergy is acting as financial advisor to Naqaa Sustainable Energy, part of O-Green, a renewable energy platform backed by Oman government entities, on the transaction, providing support across negotiation of project and finance documents, raising debt financing for the project, and other related workstreams. As part of its mandate, Synergy looks forward to supporting the Naqaa team in achieving a successful financial closing for the Project.
