This project brings together the Governments of Kyrgyz Republic, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, marking unprecedented regional collaboration toward shared goals of regional energy security, water resource use and sustainable development. Supported by the World Bank, the project highlights the rising global importance of the water-energy nexus, particularly in hydro-dependent economies.
Synergy is pleased to collaborate with an elite consortium of advisors, including White & Case LLP and Centil Law Firm as legal advisor, and Mercados – Aries International (MAI) and Sandip Shah Consult Pvt. Ltd. as technical advisors.
Synergy Consulting together with its partners, is expected to support the governments of the three countries in:
- Structuring the Intergovernmental Agreement governing cooperation between the countries.
- Establishing and operationalizing the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for project delivery.
- Structuring and negotiating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to enable reliable power export to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan while ensuring national supply for the Kyrgyz Republic.
- Ensuring alignment with international best practices for environmental and social sustainability, in coordination with the World Bank and other technical advisors.
