Sub-Saharan Africa’s scenario is alarming, with only 56% of urban residents having piped water access as of 2019. The solution lies in strategic investments in modern water infrastructure, climate-resilient agriculture, and community engagement.
Governments and international bodies must prioritize efficient water resource management, embracing technologies like dams, wastewater treatment, and desalination facilities. The article advocates for the success-proven Public Private Partnership (PPP) model to alleviate financial burdens on state-owned utilities and enhance operational efficiency.
