A scarcity of resources, however \u2013 including the availability of qualified physicians and nurses \u2013 remains a cause for significant concern.<\/p>\n<p>And the demand for healthcare in the GCC is only growing; the result of an ever-expanding population with an extended life expectancy, paired with lifestyle-related conditions such as obesity and diabetes.<\/p>\n<p>In previous years, healthcare in the GCC was funded solely by the government, but as the need for advanced technology and its associated costs continue to climb, these nations are gradually turning to private investors in a bid to pool resources and provide for the masses.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) are increasingly being raised as an alternative approach to healthcare.
