The country has an untapped potential of ~14GW hydropower capacity and ~267GW of solar power capacity, offering a significant opportunity for renewable energy development.<\/p>\n<p>With significant opportunities in the country, though the path to a sustainable energy future presents challenges.<\/p>\n<p>In the recent few years, Kyrgyzstan has politically stabilized, with a government focused on reforms and attracting foreign investment, as reflected in strengthening laws facilitating Public-Private Partnerships (PPP). Kyrgyzstan has also pursued economic reforms and achieved an average GDP growth rate of 7% over the past three years.<\/p>\n<p>With its focus on harnessing the country\u2019s renewable energy potential, the government has identified 12 clean energy projects requiring over USD 16 BN in investments, including major hydropower plants like Kambarata-1 (1,860 MW) and solar projects like Kongorchok (100-150 MW), the country\u2019s first solar PPP tender.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Kyrgyzstan stands at a crucial juncture in its energy development. With vast potential and a commitment to sustainability, it can lead Central Asia toward a greener future, contributing to regional connectivity and growth.<\/p>\n<p>The Kyrgyzstan Government is actively engaging with investors and lenders to support the development of the 12 identified clean energy projects.
